Alex “Red” Mugnai dedicated nearly 17 years of his life to William Ryan Homes, leaving an indelible mark on the company and the homebuilding industry. He began his journey with William Ryan Homes in the early 1990s, spearheading the launch of the Florida market. From land development to hiring subcontractors to managing entire communities, Red’s influence was felt at every level. “I was known for regularly being on-site,” he said, reflecting on a career that saw the production of thousands of homes. “I started as a superintendent, but I quickly learned that being part of a new company meant assuming various roles.”
Red’s legacy extends through his family. Two of his daughters, Susan (Sales and Marketing Director, Florida division) and Christine (Office Manager, Tampa office), continue to contribute to William Ryan Homes. His son, Anthony, was with the company from its very beginning, while another son, Joe, joined alongside him and later collaborated with William Ryan’s brother, Marty, at M.Ryan Homes. Reflecting on the experience, Red shared, “Like the Ryan family, the Mugnai family loves the industry and loves working together. My family has stood with the William Ryan Homes’ corporate family to provide quality homes at a good price in a great location.”
When asked about the keys to his success, Red distilled his wisdom into three universal lessons:
Through it all, Red’s personal mission remained steadfast: “I wanted to be the best production manager in the homebuilding industry.”
We are deeply grateful for Alex “Red” Mugnai’s dedication, leadership, and the lasting impact he has made at William Ryan Homes. His commitment to excellence and family values continues to inspire us all.
